The cover is decorated with an attractive vignette printed in colour after a composition by the mystical painter Charles Filiger (1863-1928), who also illustrated L'Ymagier by Jarry and Gourmont. One of 9 copies on Japon "pourpre cardinalice" (n° 11 bis), justified and signed by Remy de Gourmont, the only large paper with a Whatman, a Hollande, 2 on laid paper and 9 on Japon "violet évêque", justification a bit "pataphysical". The copy was specially printed for Rachilde, Alfred Vallette's wife, who described herself as a "man of letters". - Circular bookplate.
