LARGE TRAVEL CABINET in Japanese lacquer. 18th century. The cabinet opens through two leaves into a set of ten drawers of varying sizes. The lock escutcheon and hinges are made of remarkably chiselled gilded brass plates. The three sides of the cabinet and the inside of the doors are decorated in gold relief on a black background with landscapes, birds and animals.
