GRAND DUCHESS OLGA ALEXANDROVNA ROMANOVA (1882 - 1960) Spring signed 'Olga' (lower right) watercolour on paper 35.3 x 25.3 cm Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna of Russia was the youngest child of Emperor Alexander III of Russia and the younger sister of Emperor Nicholas II. Olga fled revolutionary Russia with her second husband and their two sons in February 1920. She led a simple life, bringing up her two sons, working on the farm and painting. Over the course of her life, she painted more than 2,000 works of art, which provided additional income for her family and the charitable causes she supported.
