LARGE AND ORIGINAL TABRIZ (Northwest Iran, circa 1965-1970) Ruby-red field decorated with a very large central starry floral medallion inlaid with geometrically stylised polychrome floral bulbs. Four spandrels with motifs echoing the central medallion. Five borders, the main one garnet-red, decorated with rows of interlacing stems and rings inlaid with floral buds in the shape of polychrome stylised turtle shells. Wool velvet on cotton backing Carpet has been cleaned Fairly good condition Size 310 x 224 cm.
