LARGE AND ORIGINAL RUG, CHOBI AGRA (India, circa 1975) An abraded golden-beige field (natural wool change) decorated with ramifications of palmettes and bulbs of ruby, tobacco and ivory palmettes surrounded by serrated foliage. Six borders, the main one brick-red with motifs echoing the central field. Velvet, quality silky wool on cotton foundation. L. 290 x W. 251 cm. Interesting square dimensions, not common.
