Large wick lock musket.
Europe, XXᵉ century manufacture.
Hexagonal barrel hallmarked with a coat of arms under star, the letters "A" and "I" in a rectangle, and "PN" under star (indicating black powder).

It was characterised by an ignition mechanism using a hemp or linen wick, an "S"-shaped coil to which the lit wick was attached, and a pan containing fine powder. This mechanism transmitted the flame to the propellant charge in the barrel when the shooter pulled the trigger.
