LARGE OVAL SILVER PLATTER WITH HANDLES (950) Goldsmith Charles-Nicolas Odiot Paris, circa 1850 With contours and mouldings of foliate and ribboned fillets, standing on four runners; decorated in the centre with the coat of arms of Philippe of Belgium, Count of Flanders, surmounted by the motto "L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE" (UNION MAKES STRENGTH), in a surround of flowers, gadroons and rosettes on an amati background, the handles with foliate fillets.
