GRAND TOUR : 19th century Italian school, after the sculpture by Pietro TACCA (1577 - 1640) at the Fontana del Porcellino in Florence Seated boar known as Il porcellino sculpture in serpentine marble. The original bronze sculpture was cast around 1633 by Pietro Tacca from a Hellenistic marble original, now on display at the Uffizi Museum in Florence. Several copies exist, including one in the grounds of the Château d'Enghien and a variant in the grounds of the Château d'Annevoie (Namur). Small chips on the base H: 24 cm W: 22 cm Depth: 13 cm
