Beautiful strike on a regular flan, with old patina. Superb.
Knut of York was King of Northumbria whose short reign is known only from his coins, notably those discovered during the discovery of the Cuerdale Treasure in 1840 on the River Ribbe in Lancashire. He reigned between the death of Guthfrid (c.895) with Sigurd (Siefred) and was driven out by Æthelwold of Wessex in 905.
