Large detachable double clip brooch in platinum adorned with a pavement of diamonds in volutes ranging from 0.01 ct. to approx. 0.35 ct. combining approx. 7.30 ct. of 8x8, old European and old round brilliant diamonds (various qualities). High quality jewellery. Double pin on each of the two parts. Circa 1940. Size: 6.1 x 4 cm. Gross weight: 39.5 g. The transformable jewel of the 1930s/1940s was a huge success at the time. The parts were detached so that one side could be worn on the chest and the other on the hat, or like Queen Elizabeth II of England, the two brooches could be worn a few centimetres apart on the shoulder. Today, it can become a couple's jewel, with each couple wearing one of the two parts, which are reunited in the jewellery box at the end of the evening.
