A large coin axe, carved and polished with cloudy and aquatic reflections. The stone reveals veins in different shades, evoking abstract motifs or landscapes. These axes were probably used as currency to trade with neighbouring peoples. Numerous examples have been found as far afield as Costa Rica, demonstrating the exceptional influence and power of this people. Carved and polished green jadeite.
