Large grass juice Late 19th century depicting a typical pastoral scene of 18th century taste, with young ladies and knights immersed in a wooded landscape, next to a fountain, among sheep, lambs and floral details. The subject, inspired by the gallant painting of the French Rococo, develops in a harmonious and narrative composition, with a group of figures in the centre engaged in an affectionate dialogue. The decorative frame weaves together phytomorphic motifs, musical instruments, love trophies and lion-like masks, with coats of arms and allegorical cartouches. In the centre bottom centre is a Latin inscription: "CANDIDA PAX IN ARVIS/ NITET VIRGINESQUE / DULCIT AMORES", in line with the bucolic and idealised iconography.Signed bottom right: "T.
