Very rare first edition of this praise of sausages, in verse and prose, by the Florentine poet Grazzini (1504-1584), known as Il Lasca, a founding member of the Accademia degli Umidi in 1540 and of the Accademia della Crusca in 1583. The opuscule was published after his death by Domenico Manzani, who dedicated it to the president of the second academy, Pier Francesco Cambi. Armorial stamp with the initials COG on the title and bookplate of Raymond Oliver (Rouvier de Vaulgran). A short-margined copy trimmed flush with the text. A few stains and scattered brown spots.
