In his study of Magnesian stephanophore coins, Jones recorded a total of 36 different obverse corners of widely varying artistic quality. The reverses show that minting was organised by a duumvirate of Magnesian magistrates, eight of whom have been identified to date: Pausanias, son of Euphemus / Apollodorus, son of Callicrates / Euphemus, son of Pausanias / Pausanias, son of Pausanias / Heregnetos, son of Zopyrion / Erasippos, son of Aristeos / Aristocrates, son of Andron / Pythodoros, son of Demokrates. The obverse corners are shared with several reverses, and several treasures, which are well dated, allow these coins to be dated to around 145 BC. These mints were perhaps initiated by the Attalids to support the claims to the throne of Antiochus VI, the son of Alexander Balas.
