NGC XF 5/5 4/5 (8583609-004). On a spectacular electrum ingot, with a beautiful yellow colour, slightly shiny. The strike is centred, with Pegasus well complete. Minimal flats on the high reliefs. Rare. Superb. The vineyards of Lampsaque were renowned, as shown by the vine engraved around Pegasus on the right. The vineyards of Lampsachia are mentioned by Strabo (Strabo XIII, 12), Thucydides (Thucydides 1.138.5) and Plutarch (Plutarch Themistocles. 29).
