GREEK BLACK GLAZE GUTTUS WITH ZEUS AMMON Ca. 360 - 320 BC. A classic blackware guttus with a rounded, ribbed body, a single loop handle, and a high spout with a funnel mouth, all on a raised, tiered spool-shaped foot. The tondo is decorated in a low-relief scene depicting the frontal head of Zeus Ammon with curved horns between the curly hair. The vessel is covered in a jet-black glaze, and scattered areas of faint iridescence complement the lustrous colour. A reserve band is above the base.
