GREEK GEOMETRIC STATUETTE OF TWO HORSES WITH HARNESS
Ca. 800 - 700 BC
A pair of fabulous Greek cast-bronze horses, geometrically stylised, with bodies that widen slightly at the hips and taper towards the chest. The animals have four cylindrical legs, a curved tail droops down and have a harness with a hoop. Their heads are raised attentively, featuring a crested mane, an ovoid snout and a pair of perky ears. The horses display a textured green and brown patina.
