GREEK GOLD COILED PIN WITH HOLY ACORN AND LEAVES. Ca. 400 - 300 BC. A collection of gold ornaments, including, from top to bottom: a long pin with a twisted shank and a pear-shaped finial with a stippled central panel bordered by oval cells and set before a transverse rectangular bar; a hollow acorn pendant with a ribbed cupule, smooth nut, and a tiny terminal knob, perforated lengthwise; and two thin sheet oak-leaf appliqués with lobed margins and a raised central rib. Size: 15-80mm x 10-20mm; Weight: 8g Provenance: From an old British collection formed in the 1990s; previously acquired in Holland.
