GREEK GOLD SWIVEL RING WITH INTAGLIO OF A LION.
Ca. 500 BC
A gold swivel ring with a slender rounded hoop, the terminals bound with short coils of wire and supporting a transverse bar suspending a circular pale green intaglio. The obverse is engraved with a lion in profile, its elongated body seated on a short groundline, with raised tail, full mane and head turned back, the reverse slightly convex and plain.

Provenance: Private London collection; previously in a 1990s UK Ancient art collection.
