GREEK TERRACOTTA JUG WITH LID Ca. 400 - 300 BC. A terracotta jug with a globular body decorated with a frieze of continuous meander below a band of spirals and ivy leaves. The wide neck rises to a flat rim, joined to the shoulder by a single strap handle. The slightly domed lid is surmounted by a knob handle and painted with radiating lines. Size: 90mm x 100mm; Weight: 165g Provenance: Private UK collection, acquired on the Dutch art market; previously acquired on the Belgian art market; Hugo Lievens, Brussels 1982.
