GREEK TERRACOTTA PLAQUE WITH SEATED GODDESS Ca. 450 BC. A rectangular terracotta plaque depicting a seated goddess in high relief, her head slightly turned and crowned with a stephane. She holds a rounded object in her raised right hand and wears a fitted garment with diagonal folds, particularly marked around the thighs. She is seated on a low, ridged stool. A smaller figure stands beside her with hands raised in a gesture of devotion. The lower register is decorated with a vegetal motif, and the reverse is flat and undecorated.
