The coloured map of Baroque London shows the extensive destruction of the city after the Great Fire in September 1666 with its red-coloured areas in the city map. At the lower edge of the map, a panorama shows the city during the fire, which destroyed up to 80 percent of the houses within the city walls. The top left-hand corner is filled with a proposal for a new road network in London. As a large part of the city now lay derelict after the fire, there were several proposals for a new rectangular street network with planned decorative squares. - Creases, marginal tears, minimally stained.
