Large allegorical KPM Berlin figurine group. "Mars and history". Original title Round, moulded base. Figure of Mars in a red cloak seated on a marbled ashlar with discarded lion skin over a breastplate in relief. His right arm around the young lady standing next to him with her head bowed and blindfolded. In her right hand an open book, in her left hand holding a long quill as the personification of history. A lyre, trumpet and painting palette lying on the ground as attributes of the arts and a helmet and shield respectively. Polychrome, pastel-coloured painting with matt gold staffage. Designed by Wilhelm Christian Meyer, 1766 - 1767, model no. 266, year letter. Minimally restored; sceptre and painter's mark. H. 46 cm. Cf. Köllmann, Berliner Porzellan, vol. I, p. 121 and vol. II, pl. 45; cat. Kunst und Gewerbe Museum Hamburg, no. 260. A large allegorical figure group, titled "Mars and the history" modelled by W. Chr. Meyer. Date letter. Sceptre and painter's mark.
