The painter and graphic artist Werner Schreib (1925-1969) studied from 1947 at the Muthesius Werkschule in Kiel and at the Werkkunstschule in Wiesbaden. He worked with various printing techniques, which he also tried to incorporate into the arts and crafts, for example as a freelancer for Rosenthal from 1968 to 1969. He was awarded a Grand Prix at the 1959 Biennale in Paris.
