Large Frankfurt lidded vase with Chinoiserie faience. Ovoid shape, accentuated towards the stand and shoulder by a moulded band, bell-shaped lid with ovoid knob. Rich, full-surface, light cobalt blue painted sharp-fire decoration, the wall divided by three cross bands into large pictorial fields with Chinese figures in landscapes. Floral cartouches on the shoulder and lid, separated by similar cross bands. Lid probably added or restored; mark. Label of the Schafft collection with no. 90. H. 44 cm.
