Large Fürstenberg lidded vase with soft painting or trestle head vase. Rectangular base with recessed round foot and final nodus. Above an egg-shaped, widening body with sculptured ram's heads on the sides and a rim surrounded by oak leaves. Umbrella-shaped lid with baluster pommel. Both sides of the wall in magnificent, volute-shaped, exuberant reserves of gold in relief, an extensive bouquet of blooming anemones and chrysanthemums on a delicately toned background. Rich relief gold decoration on all sides. Fine, polychrome soft painting, probably from the painting department of Oswald Miersch. Manufacturer's mark. H. 58 cm. Skilfully executed, painterly bouquet in the tradition of soft painting by KPM Berlin at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century; this new artistic aesthetic had a lasting influence on flower painting on porcelain.
