Large Meissen lidded vase with fine floral painting Above the round stand, a baluster-shaped, domed body with a recessed shoulder and cylindrical neck. Bonnet-shaped, slightly overhanging lid with gilded drop finial. Large, colourful flower arrangements on both sides of the wall in so-called "FF bouquet painting" after copperplate engravings without shadows. Flying insects and butterflies. Corresponding decoration on the lid. Fine polychrome painting with gold staffage. Above gold lace border. Model no. 51111. year mark. Centreboard mark. H. 47 cm. Painted in the style of the Meissen woodcut flowers of the 18th century, the vase illustrates the modern, so-called "FF flower painting", which favours the lush bouquet form without shading in comparison to the woodcut flowers, which are often painted individually and thus refer to their botanical origin.
