Otto Pilz (1876 - 1934) created numerous models for the Meissen manufactory as a freelance sculptor from 1905, including a series of naturalistic animal figures, some of which are extremely spirited and full of movement, which are among the best achievements of modern Art Nouveau porcelain sculpture.
