Large Meissen ceremonial vase with floral decoration in the style of Prof. Julius Eduard Braunsdorf Baluster-shaped body on a raised, multi-jointed round foot, surrounded by acanthus and pearl friezes in relief and various ornamental bands. Leaf volute handles with shell relief, rising curved in large leaf volutes at the shoulder. Partly cobalt blue ground. Large floral arrangement of yellow roses and multi-coloured chrysanthemums in soft, polychrome painting on both sides of the wall. Rich gold decoration. Designed by Ernst August Leuteritz. Model no. D 153, rest: body and foot glued. Centreboard mark. H. 60.5 cm. Stylistically in the tradition of the Impressionist flower paintings by Prof. Julius Eduard Braunsdorf (1841 - 1922) with a soft, glazed style and delicate colour palette. The Meissen flower painter had a lasting influence on future generations of painters. A large splendid porcelain vase with flower arrangements painted in the manner of Prof. J. E. Braunsdorf. Crossed swords mark. Restored. Meissen. Circa 1924 - 1934.
