Large Meissen snake-handled vase with Dresden veduta Amphora-shaped body surrounded by ornamental borders in relief. Side handles rising from a sculpted acanthus leaf base in the shape of spirally coiled pairs of snakes. The front with an octagonal reserve in a cobalt blue background, partially decorated with gold ornamentation. In it the meticulously depicted view of Dresden with a view from today's Neustadt with rows of houses over the Augustus Bridge to the Old Town, including the Frauenkirche, the Hofkirche and the Hausmannsturm with the Residenzschloss. The reserve on the reverse with a bouquet of flowers. Extremely fine polychrome painting with gold staffage. Designed by Ernst August Leuteritz. Model no.
