Large potpourri vase "Allegory of Taste" On four flared volute feet, a strongly volute-shaped curved base richly decorated with sculptural flowers and leaves. On the foreground, a lady seated between a basket of flowers and a cupid boy with a branch of flowers. Behind this, a baluster-shaped vase standing on a stone plinth, open-worked and partly woven in relief with a matching lid crowned with flowers. In the reserve butterflies and insects. Branches rising from the sides with floral decoration in relief and a monkey clinging to the shoulder. Polychrome painting with gold decoration. Designed by Johann Friedrich Eberlein, c. 1748. A red chalk drawing of the model can be found in the archives of the Meissen porcelain manufactory, made by Christian Gottfried Jüchtzer, dated c. 1775.
