Large, magnificent Meissen lidded vase with rose and fruit decoration. Elongated, baluster-shaped body with rounded shoulder and offset short round neck. Overhanging bonnet lid with pressed, gilded ball finial. The front with a colourful arrangement of large, blooming roses, accompanied by discreet sprigs of forget-me-nots and dark and light grapes. A single depiction of a rose branch on the back and on the lid. Fine polychrome painting. Gold rim. Model no. 51110, crossed swords mark. H. 45 cm.
The decoration is stylistically in the tradition of soft, glazed painting with contourless transitions by Prof. Julius Eduard Braunsdorf.
