Large rare Meissen dove group Oval heightened, partially reliefed natural base with leafy branch. Each with naturalistically depicted pigeons sitting on a tree stump, almost beaking each other, with finely modelled plumage. Polychrome painting with gold staffage. Designed by August Ringler, c. 1863 - 1865, model no. F 150, unmarked; crossed swords mark. H. 28.5 cm. August Ringler designed numerous naturalistic animal groups in the 1860s, including a series of various bird groups as well as groups of dogs, partridges and chickens. A large rare pigeon group modelled by A. Ringler. Insignificantly restored. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. 2nd half of the 19th century.
