From 1685, the Brunswick guild demanded the wardrobe as a "wardrobe according to architecture" as a masterpiece. Wardrobes of this type placed particularly high demands on the technical skills of a journeyman and were extremely expensive, both in terms of materials and the approximately one-year labour involved.
