Darauf doppelwandiger Korpus mit umlaufender Jagdszenerie auf dem Mantel. In erhabenem Relief vor Waldkulisse Jagdgruppe in antikisierenden Rüstungen zu Fuß und zu Pferde, im Vordergrund ein bereits erlegter Hirsch und ein Löwe. Auf der linken Seite ein Reiter einem fliehenden Hirschen nachsetzend. Der Scharnierdeckel mit abgeflachter Oberseite mit passendem Trophäendekor. Der Knauf in Form einer großen, vollplastischen Figur der Göttin Minerva mit ihren Attributen Helm, Schild und Eule gearbeitet. Kräftiger und schwerer J-Henkel. Ca. 1860g. Höhe 25,5cm. Domed base with trophies and portrait medallions. On it double sided body with a hunting scene all round the cover. In raised relief a hunting party in antique-like armour, either mounted or on foot, in a forest scenery, to the fore a stag and lion already killed. To the left a rider chasing a stag. The hinged lid with flattened top and matching trophy decorations. The large finial in the shape of the goddess Minerva sculpted in the round with her attributes the helmet, shield, and owl. Strong and heavy J-handle. Ca. 1860g. Height 25.5cm. Marked thrice: assayer's mark Gdansk 1670-1700 (Czihak, Western Prussia no.5), maker's mark Andreas Mackensen I (since 1643 master in Gdansk, before that goldsmith to the court of Cracow, ibid. no.337b).
