Large incense burner with elephant decoration Brass, gilded on a round, carved wooden base. Above three elephant heads as feet, a round, bell-shaped body with two smaller elephant heads as handles and floral relief decoration on the wall. The lid with a wall of openwork leaf tendrils and crowned by a resting elephant with another, smaller incense burner on its back. Colourful coloured stones. Minimally damaged; some stones missing; total h. 45 cm.
Provenance: from the Michahelles collection, Hamburg, which has grown over generations.
