Großherzog August I. von Oldenburg (1783 - 1853) - prunkvolle, goldene Geschenkdose, Charles Collins & Söhne, Hanau, um 1830/40 In Gelb- und Rotgold sowie Silber und Emaille gefertigt, die ursprünglich gefassten Brillanten wohl nach 1918 durch Similisteine ersetzt. Der scharniergelagerte Deckel mit silbernem und mit Steinen besetztem Monogramm "A" unter Großherzogskrone und in hochovalem Medaillon, umgeben von erhabenen und ziselierten Blüten und Blattranken und eingerahmt von blau emailliertem Zierrahmen (kleine Restaurierungen). Der Deckelrand changierend dekoriert mit silbergefassten Steinen und Akanthuslaub, umrahmt von feinem Blattfries. Die Wandungen an der Seite und am Boden verziert mit elegantem Wellendekor in Rot- und Gelbgold, die vier Ecken sowie der Bodenrand mit hervorragend ziselierten Blüten und Ranken in zweifarbigem Gold sowie Silber reliefiert. Die Innenseite in Rotgold ausgekleidet, im Boden (berieben) sowie unter der Deckelfolie Juwelierspunzen "CCS" von Charles Collins & Söhne aus Hanau. Maße 91 x 62 x 22 mm, Gewicht 141,20 g. Die 1817 in Hanau gegründete Juwelierwerkstatt von Charles Collins & Söhne zählt zu den herausragenden Herstellern von Golddosen der ersten Hälfte des 16. Jahrhunderts. Großherzog (Paul Friedrich) August I. von Oldenburg ging nach der Besetzung Oldenburgs 1811 durch Frankreich mit seinem Vater ins Exil nach Russland, wo ihn Zar Alexander I. zum Gouverneur von Estland ernannte. Mit Beginn von Napoleons Russlandfeldzug schloss er sich 1812 dem Stab des Zaren an und kämpfte in den Befreiungskriegen bis 1814 auf russischer Seite. Nach dem Tod seines Vaters regiert er in Oldenburg von 1829 bis 1853. Zustand: I - II Augustus I, Grand Duke of Oldenburg (1783 - 1853) - a splendid gold presentation box, Charles Collins & Söhne, Hanau, circa 1830/40 Made of yellow and red gold, silver and enamel, the original inset diamonds probably replaced with imitation stones after 1918. The hinged lid with the silver monogram "A", set with stones, below a grand ducal crown and in an extended oval medallion, surrounded by raised and chased flowers and leafy vines, and bordered by an ornamental frame in blue enamel (small restorations). The edge of the lid with iridescent decoration, stones set in silver and acanthus leaves, framed with a delicate foliage frieze. The side and base panels embellished with elegant wave ornaments in red and yellow gold, the four corners and the edge of the base with beautifully chased flowers and tendrils in two-coloured gold and silver relief. The interior plated in red gold, the jeweller's hallmark "CCS" for Charles Collins & Söhne of Hanau on the base (rubbed) and under the film of the lid. Dimensions 91 x 62 x 22 cm, weight 141.20 g. An exquisite presentation box belonging to the Grand Duke of Oldenburg. Founded in Hanau in 1817, the jeweller's workshop of Charles Collins & Söhne is regarded as one of the most outstanding manufacturers of gold boxes in the first half of the 16th century. After Oldenburg was occupied by France in 1811, (Paul Friedrich) August I, Grand Duke of Oldenburg went into exile in Russia, accompanied by his father, where he was appointed Governor of Estonia by Tsar Alexander I. Following Napoleon's invasion of Russia, he joined the tsar's staff in 1812 and fought on Russia's side in the Wars of Liberation until 1814. On the death of his father, he reigned in Oldenburg from 1829 to 1853. Condition: I - II
