A WHITE VINOVO PORCELAIN GROUP, 1783; SOME RESTORATIONS
This group of the Visitation certainly constitutes one of the finest achievements in the production of plastics in the Piedmontese manufactory, not only for the quality of the modelling (and the considerable dimensions) but also for the beauty of the invention. A demonstration, as has already been noted (L. Melegati in d'Agliano, Maritano, op. cit. 2015, p. 136) of the quality achieved by Vinovo in the production of biscuits and whites. Dated 1783, our group had been published in 1973 by Brosio (op. cit., table CXCI), who attributed it to Lomello and recalled the existence of a biscuit version in the collections of Palazzo Madama in Turin, and again by d'Agliano and Maritano in 2015 (op.cit. 2015, tab. 194 , p. 211).
