Alexandre Maigret was one of the most important founisseurs of the Imperial furniture from 1805 until his retirement in 1826. He began his dual activity as upholsterer and cabinetmaker in 1775 at number 20 rue Vivienne in Paris. He supplied furniture for the châteaux of Versailles, Saint-Cloud, Fontainebleau (Madame Mère's flat) and the Tuileries.
