RUSSO-JAPANESE WAR - PAUL DOUMER. An astonishing and rare set of 22 postcards on the theme of the war (including a series of 5, under a captioned band bearing the handwritten words "first official series of commemorative cards..."). All the cards are captioned (English/Japanese), stamped, cancelled and addressed to Monsieur Paul Doumer, then a Member of Parliament after having served as Governor of Indochina. The cards were enclosed in an envelope also bearing the Paris address of the future President.
