Guillaume APOLLINAIRE, autograph manuscript, La plante, [1918] 7 pages and a quarter in-8 on 6 leaves extracted from a notebook. Complete working manuscript of a tale, published in Le Journal on 13 October 1918. An edited manuscript from the collection of Amédée Ozenfant was reproduced in the special Apollinaire issue of the journal L'Esprit nouveau (1924). The beginning was sketched in pencil and then rewritten in ink on counterfoil from the Cabinet of the Minister (des Colonies). According to Michel Décaudin, this tale, which relates "the life of a woman to that of a plant [...] takes us back to the melancholy meditations on destiny and solitude, on the passage of time and memory, which inspired many of the poems in Alcools".
