and herringbone bracing. Label:
"F. Breton breveté de S.A.R. Me la Duchesse
d'Angoulême à Mirecourt 18(...)". Mirecourt,
Joseph-François Breton (1763 - 1837).
The back of the instrument is entirely
painted in monochrome black, gold and green
with a representation of Saint Cecilia,
the patron saint of music, playing the harp
among the instruments, looking out over a
cloudy landscape between two columns.
It is topped with draperies and
trimmings. The paving reads
"Ste Cécile".
Early 19th century, circa 1815.
