Gutenberg, Fust and Schoeffer, medallion Bronze medallion depicting Guttenberg, Fust and Schoeffer on a wooden plaque lined with velvet. 15 cm. Note: Johann Fust, born around 1400 in Mainz in the Holy Roman Empire and died on 30 October 1466 in Paris, was a merchant and banker. He financed the printing works of Gutenberg and Peter Schoeffer, a German typographer and printer who perfected the letterpress invented by Gutenberg. His technical skill ensured him a key place in the history of printing and typography.
