Paris, Calmann-Lévy, 1894; in-8, [4]-273-[1] pp, contemporary binding in old pink morocco, large mosaic decoration on upper cover and spine, smooth: flowers, reeds, bird, butterfly, large interior decoration, gilt edges on witnesses, orange cover and spine (Champs). First edition. Portrait of Gyp and facsimile of a letter to his publisher in the frontispiece. One of five numbered copies on imperial Japanese paper, the only large paper. This one, No. 1, is enriched with 4 fine original watercolours, including 2 signed by M. Arnold. Ex libris engraved by Ch. Audierne, initials MG, bearing the motto: De la paix, du silence, de l'ombre. A fine copy in an attractive morocco binding with mosaic decoration by Victor Champs - Slight trace of damp in the upper corner of the binding.
