HABANER KNIFE
Haban work, 1st half of the 17th century.
Fluted bronze handle tapering to the blade in bastion form, inlaid with rectangular and semicircular grip scales of mother-of-pearl and green and ochre-coloured horn. Small stone beads in green and ochre on the top and bottom of the grip. Similar baluster-shaped grip cap with "Fleur de Lys" in mother-of-pearl and double button finial. Centre-pointed blade. Forge mark.
L 18.5 cm.
Blade cleaned and traces of corrosion. 1 stone bead missing from the top of the handle. 1 flower on the mother-of-pearl "fleur de lys" missing.
