HAN DYNASTY POTTERY RABBIT - TL TESTED. Ca. 202 BC - AD 220. A pottery figure of a rabbit, depicted in a seated position with its front legs firmly planted and hind legs tucked beneath the body. The head is slightly raised, with large, erect ears that taper to a point, the inner surfaces highlighted in faded red pigment. The face features a rounded snout with a slightly upturned nose, slightly bulging, circular eyes, and subtle incisions marking the mouth. The body is well-proportioned with a slightly arched back, muscular limbs, and clearly defined paws with individual toes. Size: 310mm x 220mm; Weight: 3.5kg Provenance: UK private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. This piece has been precisely dated using a thermoluminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot.
