Staudacher numbered 70/150 ESTIMATE € 900 - € 1200 STARTING PRICE € 900 Hans Staudacher was an Austrian artist of the 20th century and is considered one of the most important representatives of abstract painting. As an autodidact, he began making drawings, landscape watercolours and portraits very early on and from 1948 he took part in exhibitions. In 1950 he moved to Vienna. In 1954 and 1962 he travelled to Paris several times for longer periods. In 1956 Staudacher represented Austria at the Venice Biennale and in 1976 he was awarded the title of professor. He was a co-founder and main representative of Austrian informal art and a member of the Vienna Secession, the Forum Stadtpark in Graz and the Kunstverein für Kärnten in Klagenfurt. Today his works can be found in the Albertina Graphic Collection, in the Museum of Art in Cincinnati and in numerous public and private collections in Germany and abroad.
