Humorous, narratively depicted interior scene in a Berlin working-class flat with a man lying in bed and his wife standing in front of him, holding their young son in her arms. The situation is described by an accompanying text characteristic of Zille: "Frugal. (/) Woman: 'Männe, quick, get Doctor Friontig, Hans has swallowed a nickel. (/) Man: 'These women! Now I'm supposed to spend a thaler to save five pfennigs!" ". The drawing (or another version) is also known from the "Zille-Buch" by Hans Ostwald with the collaboration of Heinrich Zille (181st -190th thousand, Paul Franke Verlag, Berlin 1929) (Ill. 156).
