Lot no. 102
HELLENISTIC CORE-FORMED GLASS AMPHORISKOS.
Ca. 150 BC - AD 50.
A core-formed amphoriskos in amber-coloured glass with an elongated, inverted piriform body tapering to a pointed base. A cylindrical neck rises from the shoulder, culminating in a pronounced, rounded rim. Two vertical handles extend symmetrically from the shoulder to just below the rim. The body is decorated with opaque orange and turquoise trails; the orange is applied as horizontal bands encircling the neck, shoulder, and lower body, while the turquoise forms a continuous wavy pattern across the midsection, consisting of parallel, undulating lines extending around the circumference.
