HELLENISTIC GILDED LION HEAD PENDANT.
Ca. 100 BC - AD 100
A gold pendant modelled as a lion’s head with large bulging eyes and pointed ears projecting to either side. The short muzzle has a prominent nose and rounded whisker pads with engraved curving lines, with further linear detailing across the brow. A plain tubular suspension loop rises from the top of the head.
